A ‘Small’ List of all the ‘Big’ Overwatch World Cup teams

The Overwatch World Cup starts on Nov. 1 and the top 10 seed countries are busy stacking powerful teams so as to bring home the World Cup. Here are their roster details, in no particular order.

♦ Team USA

The USA roster is fully composed of Overwatch League pros, but only seven of the 12 players on the list will get the chance to represent the U.S. on the world stage.

♦ Team Canada

With five alternates, their final roster is the exact same as the lineup from the 2018 Overwatch World Cup, as Canada believes what isn’t wrong needs not be corrected. This roster successfully bagged the bronze medal last year thanks to their outstanding performance.

Team synergy amongst the players is something these World Cup teams struggle about, but China seems to have the exact solution to this problem. China will be fielding a full team of Overwatch League players, including five players from the Chendgu Hunters and one from both the Hangzhou Spark and the Guangzhou Charge.

Holding on to the World Champions title for the last three years, South Korea has to repel the surmounting efforts by rest of the countries once again. For this, South Korea announced a shortlist of 12 players last week but now has confirmed its final seven-man roster for the 2019 Overwatch World Cup.

For the first time ever, India is sending an Overwatch roster to the World Cup. Not being one of the top ten teams, the team has to bear all the travel expenses themselves. Due to an undeveloped Overwatch scenario, there wasn’t any hope that they will field a team. But an Indian organization, Global Esports took upon itself to scout for players through try-outs that were free and open for people of all ranks and skill levels, and finally assembled a team from scratch.
